Tortoise Syndrome

As may be noticed, we have slowed down our posting a bit as life’s many onslaughts take more than their fair share of our time. The hope is to have a good article or two written weekly (if you have a suggested listen, do tell), but since Leslie’s semester is winding down, my work schedule is booked rather solid and with the inevitable approach of year-end festivities I wouldn’t hold my breath for a regular second.

Someday we both may be able to sit on a beach with margaritas and netbooks and blog the week away, but not quite yet.

We are working towards it though.

New Content Is Coming!

I kind of sucked out last week with content updates due in part to three days of working from home (thank you G-20), and a general case of malaise.

I was so ridiculously tired – the change of seasons does this to me every spring and every autumn, and I unfortunately kind of fall into a slump until temperatures normalize.

Leslie is still on the ball and has a review sitting in the queue… I’ll post later today as soon as possible and hopefully get back into the swing of things here.

Long Weekend

Well, it’s come to it – rafting. Yes, that time of year where mine and Les’ brother takes it upon himself to more or less organize (it’s partially free-form) a rafting outing to Ohiopyle / Youghiogheny River (pronounced yock-a-gain-ee though you wouldn’t guess it). It’s inevitably a fun outing, but it’s time and money consuming… The one serious problem with car camping is that you inevitably bring EVERYTHING you could possibly consider doing during your time there, and you preemptively buy enough food to feed a small village in Cambodia for that time.

And then there’s the case of beer for me, and the case of beer for my beloved just in case we decide to test the boundaries of alcohol poisoning during those two days. [For the record, the beer selection is split cases of Yuengling, a favorite local lager among Pennsylvanians, Corona, the wondrous brew from Mexico, and a few bottles of Yards IPA for a trial tasting.]

Anyway, to make a long ramble slightly shorter, I’ll be out in the quasi-wilderness surrounding Ohiopyle (it’s not state-land so the booze is legal) where the graces of electronic devices are but a dream in the mind of a digital junkie. Consequently, I will be prohibited from updating the site by the lack of a generator, swarms of raccoons, and roaming bands of West Virginians. I know, it’s tragic, but please don’t despair! Assuming I’m not drowned, mauled by bears, alcohol poisoned, or otherwise rendered incapable I will be back on Monday with more sound elixirs for you to mull over.

Impromptu Hiatus

Unforeseen, poorly timed, poorly communicated, and all around sucky – life, illness, and several other forces of the universe have crept up, bludgeoned me and several people around me, and I’ve simply been unable to post. As soon as I can taste food again, there will be more musical wonders unleashed (no they aren’t directly related). Leslie even has one all greased up and ready, but the announcer has failed to let it out to shake its money makers… Epic fail. Even a tear or two.
